Being a Man

Being a man is all about action.  The essence of being is doing. It is the point of being alive. It is in the action that our identity is lived out. It is in the action that our being is fulfilled. We are not designed to float along and be carried into a meaningless existence. We are designed to think, plan, engage, fight, conquer, love, teach.

Secondly we are designed to take responsibility for our lives. Every man has a territory...something for which he is responsible. Managing and caring for that territory is our role in life. It starts with ourselves and ensuring that we are caring for our mind, heart and body. It then moves out to our possessions and then to those with whom we have relationship.

Thirdly we are designed to help nurture and build other men.  We are designed to learn by doing and emulating those who are experienced. As we become wiser, our job is to share that knowledge and help others to do the same by doing and experiencing.

Finally we are designed to live only to the glory and pleasure of God.  Anything else will be found corrupt. If we dedicate ourselves to live the life God designed us to live and seek his purposes and his approval only, then our lives will never be empty. Our life will have a deep contentment in that we lived as we were designed and only as we were designed. We used the talents and gifts in reverence for our maker.

This is the only way to live.

Rightness of being wrong

Perhaps the history of the errors of mankind, all things considered, is more valuable and interesting than that of their discoveries. Trut...
